A new firm built by people who'd seen enough.
Black Briar Group INC was incorporated in 2026 by two senior investigators who spent a combined 18+ years working insurance files for other agencies — and kept a list of everything they'd fix. This firm is that list, executed.
The fixes weren't mysterious. Carriers wanted evidence that holds, budgets that behave, and file security that's real — and kept getting brochures instead. So we built the firm around the file: a documented operating standard, a portal that enforces it, and two principals who still do the field work themselves.
We're based in Belleville and built for the corridor — core operations within an hour of the city, planned work in Toronto and Ottawa, and coverage from Bancroft down to Picton. Local enough to roll same-day; disciplined enough to hand your counsel a file that survives.
Why “Briar”?
The briar is an unglamorous plant that holds its ground — quiet, persistent, and barbed when tested. We thought that was about right for the work. The name sets the standard; the standard is ours to keep.
